ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Greenville women's volleyball battled through a tough Saturday, falling in both matches against strong opponents, Hendrix and WashU.
Abby Grohmann was an offensive powerhouse for the Panthers despite the two losses.
How it Happened:
The Panthers opened the day against unbeaten Hendrix, taking the first set 25-20 before the Warriors rallied to win 3-1 (20-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-17).
Grohmann powered Greenville with thirteen kills, while
Lainey Hicks added seven kills and a team-best .333 hitting percentage.
In the afternoon, GU faced host WashU, ranked among the region's best, but dropped the match in straight sets (14-25, 15-25, 20-25).
Grohmann again led the attack with thirteen kills, and
Elaina Evers chipped in seven.

Emma Ratermann tallied nineteen assists as Greenville fought to stay competitive.
Despite the 0-2 day, the Panthers showed resilience against top competition, with Grohmann finishing with 26 kills across both matches. Greenville moves to 4-6 overall and looks ahead to conference play next week.
