Men's gymnastics takes two event titles at ECAC Championships

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The men's gymnastics team claimed two event titles while placing third at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Matthew Roth tied for first in the pommel horse, while Ricky Mays brought home the gold in the vault. 

How it Happened:

Floor Highlights (52.250):

Jaxon Clapper was GU's top performer on floor, posting a 13.350 for eighth. 

Andres Esquivel followed him with a 13.250, tying for tenth. 

Pommel Horse Highlights (50.400):

With his 13.550 pommel horse routine, Roth tied for first place with Esquivel hot on his tail at third place (13.450).

Rings Highlights (49.400):

Taking the fifteenth and sixteenth spots, Elijah Cruz and Ethan Poole posted a 12.450 and 12.400 on the rings. 

Vault Highlights (56.150):

The Panthers dominated on vault, taking first, second, and sixth. 

Mays posted a 14.300 for first, while Clapper collected a 14.250 for second.

Brayden Erickson was close behind with a 14.000, landing in sixth.

Parallel Bars Highlights (50.050):

Donovan Diviney tied for fourth in the p bars with a 13.050.

Earning a 12.900, Clapper placed seventh. 

High Bar Highlights (49.050):

Diviney scored a 13.000 to tie for fifth place.

Michael Avery was the next best, sitting at 18th with his 12.250.

The Panthers compete in the NCAA Championships on April 18th and 19th.
