TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The women's track and field team took second place at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet, collecting 106 points with five event titles.
How it Happened:
TyKiaza Jones had a remarkable meet performance with a first-place finish in the 100m hurdles, posting a 14.22s. Jones also contributed to the 4x100 first-place outing. The 4x100 team ran a 48.50s for first.
In the high jump, Anna Beth Vancil took the title with her 1.64m jump.
Talahiva Talanoa and Ella Ray both took the gold in some throwing events. Talanoa placed first in the shot put with a 13.30m heave, while Ray posted a 46.21m throw in the hammer.
Talanoa also landed in second in the discus (41.68m).
Madison Kacevicius and Lainey Hicks showed out in the long jump, taking second and third respectively. Kacevicius jumped 5.17m, while Hicks followed closely at 5.13m.
In the 800m run, Eva Schwaab ran a 2:22.19 to take second, and Norah Swinigan followed at sixth (2:27.06).
Jocelyn Fritz and Grace Waldrop had some impressive showings in their events, both taking fifth. Fritz ran a 12.52s in the 100m dash while Waldrop threw 29.14m in the javelin.
