Men's tennis dominates against Albion and Ill. Wesleyan

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The men's tennis team has had some impressive wins in their most recent matches, defeating Albion and Illinois Wesleyan, while falling to Spring Arbor.

How it Happened:

Match 1 vs. Spring Arbor

The Panthers dropped their match against Spring Arbor 7-0.
Although GU saw a doubles win from Clark Kent and Colton Hulme, they were unable to take the doubles decision.

Greenville had some hard-fought singles matches but couldn't overcome Spring Arbor.

Andres Sanchez had a close match, only losing 5-7 and 6-7.

Match 2 vs. Albion

Greenville turned it around when facing Albion, winning 6-1.

The Panthers won all three doubles and only dropped one singles match.

Sanchez, Hulme, and Jean Sanabria all had commanding wins over their singles opponents.

Sanchez won 6-2 both times, while Hulme and Sanabria dominated with identical 6-0 and 6-1 wins.

Match 3 vs. Ill. Wesleyan

Winning 6-1 again, GU came out on top against Ill. Wesleyan.

Again, they took all three doubles matches and only lost one singles contest.

Even in the dropped match, Rafael Rodriguez still fought hard and made it extremely close. After winning the first set 6-4, he lost the second 4-6. He took the tie-break set to an 11-13 game, showing his grit.

Sanchez, Hulme, Sanabria, Kent, and Francisco Trujillo all won their singles in two straight sets.

The Panthers (8-3) host Franklin on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
