OSHKOSH, Wis. - The women's volleyball team showed grit and competitive fire in a tough battle against the one-seeded UW-Oshkosh on Thursday night in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. However, the Panthers fell 3–0 but pushed the Titans throughout.
How it Happened:
The Panthers came out energized in the opening set, hitting .308 as
Mia deJesus and
Kennedy Legendre powered the offense with efficient swings, helping Greenville stay within striking distance in a narrow 25–23 setback.
Abby Grohmann anchored the attack with nine kills, while Elaina Evers added ten kills and steady back-row play, finishing with ten digs. Setter Emma Ratermann kept Greenville's offense balanced, distributing 30 assists and helping the Panthers generate early rhythm against one of the nation's top defensive units.
Defensively, Claudia Bonacorsi and Emily Ruppert combined for 27 digs as Greenville refused to back down, battling through extended rallies and tight transitions. Though Oshkosh pulled away late, the Panthers' fight and composure on the road underline Greenville's dominant season.
