GREENVILLE, Ill. — The Greenville men's basketball team opened the 2025–26 campaign with three thrilling, high-scoring contests that showcased the Panthers' trademark pace and depth.
How it Happened:
Greenville nearly outlasted Spurgeon in a double-overtime shootout to start the season, falling 162–156 despite 20 points from
Elijah Goad and 17 from Taiemm Comeaux. The Panthers poured in 156 points while shooting 43% from the field and knocking down 17 threes.
The next night, Greenville bounced back with a gritty 94–90 road win at Concordia Chicago.
Brandon Tully led the way with 21 points, including five three-pointers, while
Tim Lofton posted a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Taiemm Comeaux added 13 points and 7 boards to seal the team's first victory.
In their third game, Greenville battled powerhouse Grinnell in another offensive showcase, falling 161–130 despite a breakout 33-point performance from
Joshua Williford.
The Panthers have proven they can score with anyone in the nation. With balanced scoring, relentless tempo, and depth across the lineup, Greenville looks poised for an exciting SLIAC season ahead.
