GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's basketball team battled toe-to-toe with a strong DePauw squad on Wednesday night, falling 108–100 at H.J. Long Gymnasium but showcasing the trademark pace, depth, and grit that define Panther basketball.
How it Happened:
The first half was a shootout, with both teams locked at 54, as Greenville's balanced scoring kept the Tigers from gaining any early separation.
Tim Lofton powered the Panthers with eighteen points on an efficient 8-for-13 shooting, attacking the rim and setting the tone.
Sheldon Grant II added seventeen points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the line, giving Greenville crucial bursts of offense.
Off the bench,
Elijah Goad and
Brandon Tully sparked the Panthers with eleven and ten points, helping Greenville's fight.
Despite a colder second half from deep, the Panthers forced 25 turnovers, keeping the game within reach until the final minutes. Greenville's up-tempo attack and depth continue to show promise as the team builds momentum heading into conference play.
