BATESVILLE, Ark. — Women's volleyball extended its undefeated conference streak on Saturday, sweeping its SLIAC doubleheader with a thrilling five-set victory over Lyon and a four-set win against MUW.
How it Happened:
In the opener, the Panthers outlasted Lyon by set scores of 20-25, 25-14, 19-25, 25-15, and 17-15. Greenville hit .200 as a team, led by
Abby Grohmann and
Kennedy Legendre with twelve kills apiece, while setter
Emma Ratermann dished out 45 assists and added a .600 attack percentage.
Lainey Hicks was a force at the net with ten kills and eight blocks.
In the afternoon match, Greenville rallied after dropping the first set to defeat MUW by scores of 21-25, 26-24, 25-19, and 25-13.
Legendre again paced the offense with eighteen kills on .405 hitting, and Ratermann tallied fifty assists and five aces. Defensively,
Claudia Bonacorsi anchored the back row with 24 digs.
With the pair of wins, Greenville remains atop the SLIAC standings heading into next week's conference action.
With her outstanding performance, Legendre earned herself SLIAC Offensive Player of the Week.
