GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Panthers gave their fans plenty to cheer about on Homecoming Saturday, erasing an early deficit to pull off a dramatic 27–20 victory over Minnesota Morris. Fueled by a dominant performance from Terrel Graves and a stingy second-half defense, the Panthers delivered a memorable win to cap a festive weekend on campus.
How it Happened:
Minnesota Morris struck quickly with two first-quarter scores to grab a 13–0 lead, putting Greenville on its heels early. The Panthers answered late in the quarter as Xavien Moody finished off an eight-play, 60-yard drive with a determined seven-yard touchdown run to make it 13–7.
After the Cougars extended their lead to 20–7 in the third quarter, the Panthers' offense came alive. Graves powered in from one yard out to pull Greenville within six, capping a 13-play, 69-yard drive that drained more than eight minutes off the clock. Early in the fourth quarter, Graves struck again, this time on a 16-yard run, to give Greenville its first lead of the game.
With less than two minutes remaining and the crowd on its feet, Graves sealed the win with a spectacular 99-yard touchdown run, breaking tackles and sprinting the length of the field to secure the Homecoming victory.
Defensive Highlights:
Greenville's defense rose to the occasion in the second half. Elias Velasquez led the charge with 11 total tackles, while Samual Tillman added 10 stops and a sack. Kourtland Harris chipped in seven tackles, Matthew Reese added a key sack, and Carlis Wilson Jr. recorded a critical interception to swing momentum.
