GREENVILLE, Ill. – In front of a packed H.J. Long Gymnasium crowd, the women's volleyball team went toe-to-toe with Westminster (Mo.) on Senior Night, falling just short in a hard-fought four-set thriller (25-22, 28-30, 25-27, 23-25).
How it Happened:
Greenville came out strong, taking the opening set behind dominant front-row play from
Elaina Evers, who posted fourteen kills and added two service aces.
Abby Grohmann led all attackers with sixteen kills and fourteen digs, while
Kennedy Legendre added eleven kills and three block assists to keep Greenville's offense rolling.
Setter
Emma Ratermann directed the attack with 44 assists and contributed four service aces and eleven digs in a standout all-around effort.
Defensively,
Mia deJesus anchored the front line with seven block assists, and libero

Greenville hit .178 as a team and traded momentum throughout, pushing Westminster to extra points in two sets.
The loss marks Greenville's first in conference play, but the Panthers remain firmly in the hunt for the SLIAC regular-season title as they look to rebound in their next few matchups.
