Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's volleyball battles through three-match weekend in Wisconsin

WHITEWATER, Wis. – The Greenville women's volleyball team faced a challenging three-match weekend at Wisconsin-Whitewater, earning a hard-fought victory over Wisconsin–La Crosse and showing resilience in tight contests against the two very competitive programs, Wis.-Whitewater and Carthage.

How it Happened:

The Panthers opened Friday night with a strong performance against No. 14 Whitewater, narrowly falling in three closely contested sets (20-25, 24-26, 26-28).

Kennedy Legendre and Abby Grohmann led the attack with twelve and eleven kills respectively, while setter Emma Ratermann tallied 35 assists and added seven digs in the effort.

Greenville rebounded on Saturday morning with an impressive 3-1 win over La Crosse (18-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-17). Grohmann paced the offense again with eighteen kills, while Ratermann directed the attack with 42 assists and added seven kills of her own.

The Panthers hit .205 as a team and showed dominance at the net behind Elaina Evers' ten kills and four block assists.

In their third match of the weekend, Greenville battled fatigue against a tough Carthage squad, dropping a straight-sets decision (14-25, 16-25, 13-25). Despite the loss, Grohmann once again led with eleven kills, while libero Claudia Bonacorsi recorded eleven digs.

The Panthers return home still undefeated in SLIAC play, using the experience from this competitive weekend to fuel their push toward the conference postseason.

Up Next:

The Panthers (15-9, 8-0 SLIAC) are on the road again Tuesday at UHSP for a 6:00 p.m. match before hosting Westminster on Friday for Homecoming and Senior Night.
