ELSAH, Ill. – The Greenville women's soccer team delivered a strong road performance on Friday evening, shutting out Principia 3–0 behind a dominant showing on both sides of the ball.
How it Happened:
1st Half
Greenville controlled possession early, creating several chances through
Dillyn Baer,
Kellen Price, and
Jordyn Smith.
Their persistence paid off in the 30th minute when freshman Kylie Petroski found the net off a well-placed assist from
Katelyn Christensen, giving the Panthers a 1–0 lead.
The defense stayed solid, allowing just one Principia shot in the half.
2nd Half
The Panthers struck quickly after the break. In the 50th minute,
Ashlie Johnston Cabral added Greenville's second goal, extending the lead.
Greenville continued pressing, and in the 66th minute,
Angie Russo finished off a sharp pass from
Jordyn Smith to make it 3–0.
Goalkeeper
Madison Ashford secured the clean sheet in a complete team effort.
