ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The women's gymnastics team faced Alaska Anchorage for a second time on Saturday, looking to find a win against them. Unfortunately, the Panthers lost 192.300-182.675, but Amara Nelson was able to bring home the event title in beam with an outstanding performance.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Taking high scores on vault and beam with a respective 46.825 and 46.475, the Panthers showcased some impressive routines.
Vault Highlights:
Ending the event with a three-way tie at fifth place, Amara Nelson, Elli Schnieders, and Olivia Tocco all posted a 9.525.
Beam Highlights:
Nelson earned a 9.725 on beam, bringing home the first-place title.
Madison Carter followed her with a 9.500, earning seventh.
Floor Highlights:
GU collected a 45.450 on floor with Ellery Gilmer and Rachel Miller as their leaders. Gilmer and Miller tied for fourth with a 9.550.
Bars Highlights:
Carter and Nelson were the top Panthers on bars. Carter placed fourth with a 9.550, while Nelson took seventh with her 9.175.
All-Around:
Nelson represented Greenville in the all-around competition, posting an overall 37.175.
