ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The women's gymnastics team hit the road to face off against Alaska Anchorage. Greenville barely fell to the Seawolves 190.875-185.800, taking the second-place title in two events and first in all-around.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Panthers racked up their best score of the meet in vault, collecting a 47.425, and followed it with a 47.400 on floor. The team did well on the beam and bars, posting a 45.975 and 45.000 respectively.
Floor Highlights:
Ellery Gilmer led the way for the Panthers in floor, scoring an impressive 9.800 to secure second place.
Rachel Miller followed her, tying for fifth with a 9.725.
Bars Highlights:
Ashlie Leage also brought home a silver finish for the Panthers, posting a 9.725 in the bars.
Madison Carter landed in fifth with her 9.350, while Madison Ford placed seventh (8.950).
Vault Highlights:
Receiving a mark of 9.550, Amara Nelson tied for fourth with Gilmer and Elli Schnieders on her trail. Both gymnasts scored a 9.525, placing them in a deadlock for sixth.
Beam Highlights:
Leage led GU again with a 9.375 performance on the beam, placing fifth.
Ford was close behind with a 9.300.
All-Around:
Nelson and Leage both competed all-around, but Leage took the title with an all-around score of 37.925.
Nelson earned third place with her 36.600.
