GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's basketball team had a huge upset after crushing the conference leader, Principia, 84-63. It was a one-sided contest fueled by Greenville's overwhelming first-quarter performance. Scoring thirty-one points in the opening period while holding Principia to just seven, Greenville asserted control early and never looked back.
How it Happened:
Mya Mann led Greenville's balanced attack with seventeen points, including two three-pointers, while Alyssa Seymour added eleven points and seven rebounds.
Baylie Joiner was a force off the bench, contributing eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
The Panthers were on fire, shooting an efficient 48.4% from the field and a scorching 50% from beyond the arc. Their defense was equally impressive, forcing nineteen turnovers and limiting Principia to just 27.8% shooting.
Greenville's 48-44 rebounding edge and superior ball movement (twelve assists) solidified the emphatic victory.
