GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team kicked off their season with a home game against Monmouth (Ill.). The Panthers put up a goal in the first half but ultimately fell to the Fighting Scots 4-1.
How it Happened:
1st Half
With an aggressive start, Greenville outshot Monmouth 11-2 and managed to score in the 27th minute. The Panthers put a lot of pressure on Monmouth and went into halftime leading 1-0.
2nd Half
The script flipped in the second forty-five with the Scots outshooting GU 10-4.
In the 51st minute, Monmouth tied it up 1-1 then added three more goals throughout the remainder of the half.
Hiram Cruz was at goalkeeper tonight with three saves.

The Panthers (0-1-0) travel to Tennessee this weekend to face Piedmont and Maryville (Tenn.).
