Lynch and Hinton help the Panthers to victory over Westminster (Mo.)

FULTON, Mo. - The football team came home with another win, defeating Westminster (Mo.) 35-14. Max Lynch and Adrian Hinton helped the Panthers to victory with two touchdowns each.

How it Happened:

1st Half

Westminster (Mo.) scored early, taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

However, Greenville tied it up late in the second quarter with a passing touchdown. Lynch launched one downfield into the endzone to a diving Delrey Crowder. Luke Miller's kick attempt was good, evening out the score.

After an important forced fumble by Trevor Stewart, Greg Reese recovered the ball, giving GU possession again.

On their next drive, the Panthers took the lead with a touchdown from Hinton. Lynch handed off the ball to Terrance Brown who had a 27-yard rush to the three-yard line. After a loss of yards from a rush and two penalties, Lynch threw a short one to Hinton who ran it in from the Westminster 25-yard line.

The extra point from Miller was good, so GU went into halftime leading 14-7.

2nd Half

On their first drive of the third quarter, Lynch had a five-yard rush into the endzone and Miller kicked in another extra point to make it 21-7.

Westminster (Mo.) scored later in the quarter to make it 21-14, but the Panthers tacked on two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to solidify the lead.

Lynch and Hinton both produced rushing touchdowns in the fourth.

Hinton led the team with an impressive 139 rushing yards, while Lynch recorded 134 passing yards.

Defensively, Elias Velasquez led with seventeen tackles. Stewart, Braeden Wells, and Thomas Linnear each collected a sack on defense.

Miller went five-for-five on extra-point attempts.
