Women's soccer beats Principia 3-0 for conference champion title

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's soccer team triumphed over Principia 3-0 to solidify first place in the conference standings.

How it Happened:

The match featured a strong offensive performance from Greenville, highlighted by Dillyn Baer's opening goal in the 25th minute, assisted by Jordan Peebles.

Angie Russo doubled the lead just before halftime, scoring in the 33rd minute with an assist from Vanessa Ramirez.

Greenville continued to dominate in the second half, with Idaly Valenzuela sealing the victory late in the game in the 89th minute, assisted by Allyson Schulz.

The Greenville defense held strong, with keeper Addison Miller protecting the net to maintain the clean sheet.

Greenville outshot Principia 20-3, led by Baer, Valenzuela, and Allyson Schulz with three each. 

With this huge win, the Panthers stole first place for the regular season, giving them a bye for the conference tournament.

The Panthers (9-7-2, 7-0-1 SLIAC) will host a semi-finals game on Wednesday, November 6th.
