Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's basketball earns conference road win at Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The women's basketball team faced Spalding on Saturday on the road and collected a 65-60 win. For the second time this season, the Panthers played a basketball squad picked ahead of them in the SLIAC preseason coaches poll, and for the second time in a row, Greenville bagged the win.

The Panthers never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 20 with 4:09 to play in the fourth quarter. Spalding scored the last 15 points of the game, but Greenville had a large enough cushion to withstand the Golden Eagles' rally.

Emily Reinneck finished at the top of Greenville's scoring list with 16 points in the game. Reinneck sank 5-of-12 field goal attempts, 2-of-5 three-pointers, and 4-of-8 free throws. Reinneck also collected nine rebounds and four steals. It was Reinneck's fourth straight game with 16 or more points and fifth consecutive with a double-figure scoring effort.

Despite not scoring a point in the game, Lauren Eagleson was effective offensively and defensively, posting six assists and eight rebounds.

Two other Panthers also reached double-figures in scoring. Ally Cantrill had 11 points, and Ashley Anderson totaled 10 points.

After a week off, the Panthers (4-6, 2-0 SLIAC) will travel to Fontbonne on Saturday, March 6, for a game at 5 p.m.
