ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The softball team split a doubleheader at Webster on Friday.  Greenville won the first game 8-0 by the mercy rule as Brianna Anderson pitched a no-hitter and fell 5-4 in the second game.

The Lady Panthers gave Anderson all the run support she needed in the first inning of game one when Amanda Atteberry delivered an RBI single.

Two more runs came in the third inning with back-to-back solo home runs by Becca Oldham and Atteberry.

Greenville posted five runs in the fourth inning on a three-run home run by Shelby Cash and RBI singles from Oldham and Atteberry.

Anderson's only blemishes were a walk and two batters who were hit by a pitch.  She struck out three.

Game two was a tightly contested game that ended with the tying run on base.

Greenville took the early 1-0 lead with an RBI single from Cash.

Webster got two runs in the second, but Cash tied the score with a sacrifice fly in the third.

Webster took a 4-2 lead in the fourth and scored one run in the sixth.

The Lady Panthers got an RBI single from Cayla Speaks in the top of the seventh to cut the deficit to two.  Cash later scored a run on a error on a ball hit by Elizabeth Hawkins.

The game ended with the tying run at second base.

Caitie Opp was the losing pitcher as she hurled 5.1 innings and allowed all five runs.

The Lady Panthers (13-10, 6-2) host Spalding on Saturday.
