LOUISVILLE, Ill. - The baseball team took down a conference powerhouse on Saturday, splitting with Spalding. The Panthers fell in game one 7-1, but pulled off an extra-inning win over the Golden Eagles in game two.
How it Happened:
Game 1
Greenville dropped game one 7–1 to Spalding despite a three-hit game from center fielder Markus Isaiah, who drove in the team's only run with a fifth-inning single.
Isaiah's RBI brought home Landyn Smith to briefly cut into Spalding's early 3–0 lead, but the Golden Eagles responded with two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings to pull away.
Starting pitcher Dawson Hope (3–7) allowed three runs over five innings, including a pair of home runs in the third. Ian Wilson tossed the final three innings, giving up four runs and striking out two.
Despite the loss, Greenville's defense remained clean with no errors, and the bullpen showed flashes of resilience.

Trailing 5–2 in the ninth, the Panthers erupted for three runs, highlighted by Michael Gibson's two-run double and Matt Rocco's sacrifice fly to force extras.
Wilson Decker delivered the game-winning blow in the tenth with a two-run double, finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
