GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's track and field team continues its streak, collecting another conference title. The Panthers take the 2025 SLIAC Outdoor Championship title, placing first with 293.00 points and eight event titles.
How it Happened:
The Panthers took all three podium spots in the long jump and 800m run. Jordan Peternel (7.08m) was the top Panther in the long jump, with Cory Stoll (6.82m) and Keenon Johnikin (6.61m) following in suit at second and third.
In the 800m run, Joe Gomez took first with a 1:56.90, while Ray Dagner (1:57.87) placed second, and Jalen Franz secured third place (1:58.29).
Dylan Collins took the gold in the high jump with a 1.92m leap, and Johnikin sat in second with a 1.89m jump.
Gianni Estrada did well in the 10000m run, taking first with a 34:04.00, while Joseph Goodenow took second (35:32.00). Estrada also took the gold in the 5000m run with a time of 15:40.00.
The 4x100 (42.02s) and 4x400 (3:26.14) teams both took the top spot in their events.
In the 200m dash, Stoll took first place, running a 21.82s, while he placed second in the 100m dash (10.77s).
Peternel also placed in the triple jump and 200m, taking second with a 13.92m in the triple jump and second in the 200m (21.86s).
Running a 57.57s in the 400m hurdles, Tony Lakotich placed second, earning the silver.
Noel Andino (49.17s) took second in the 400m while Chase LaTouche followed in third with a 49.47s.
In shot put, Eric Mitchell got the silver with a 14.16m throw.
Christian Duplayee took third in the pole vault with his 4.05m performance.
James Goodenow also placed third in his event, running a 4:15.36 in the 1500m.
In the triple jump, Johnikin placed third with a mark of 13.45m.
With this impressive outing, the Panthers had multiple athletes receive All-Conference honors. Stoll was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Year, while Johnikin was given the Men's Field Freshman of the Year award. The Greenville coaching staff received the Men's Coaching Staff of the Year too! Below are the other all-conference honorees:
