CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The women's track and field team competed at the NCCAA Indoor Nationals, earning third place with many top-three individual finishes. The team took third place with eighty-five points with Talahiva Talanoa, TyKiaza Jones, Anna Beth Vancil, and other athletes contributing.
How it Happened:
Talanoa led the Panthers with a first- and second-place finish. With a gold ranking, she threw for 18.70m in the weight throw, breaking the field house and NCCAA meet records! In shot put, Talanoa recorded a 13.16m for second.
After qualifying with a 9.21s, Jones ran a 9.09s in the 60m hurdles to earn second place.
Vancil tied for second in the high jump, posting a 1.52m jump.
Jazmyn Harmon also placed second in her event, collecting a 10.56m in the triple jump.
Running a 1:47.95, the 4x200 team (Jocelyn Fritz, Taylor Tucker, Madison Kacevicius, and Harmon) earned second place.
The same athletes made up the 4x400 team, placing third with a 4:14.02.
The Panthers stayed on top in other events, landing in the top five for the DMR, pole vault (Kenzie Kurdys), long jump (Kacevicius), and triple jump (Kacevicius).
