ELMHURST & DECATUR, Ill. -Â Greenville continued its demanding non-conference stretch with road games against two strong CCIW opponents, ultimately falling at Elmhurst and Millikin.
How it Happened:
On Wednesday night at R.A. Faganel Hall, Greenville battled Elmhurst before dropping a 137–100 decision. The Panthers came out aggressive, scoring 57 first-half points and trading the lead eight times early.
Joseph Schreiber-Rivera led the way with 16 points, while Taiemm Comeaux added 14 points off the bench. Greenville's depth was evident, as the Panthers received 57 bench points and forced Elmhurst to work defensively throughout the night.
Although Elmhurst's shooting proved difficult to contain, Greenville's ball movement and transition play produced 23 fast-break points.
Two nights later, Greenville faced Millikin in Decatur, falling 133–83.
Elijah Goad paced the Panthers with 15 points, while Schreiber-Rivera chipped in 13 and Comeaux added 12.
Tim Lofton anchored the interior with 11 rebounds, helping Greenville compete on the glass against a physical Big Blue lineup.
The Panthers will look to build on these performances as they turn their focus back to SLIAC play.
