LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The men's bowling team traveled to Indiana to compete in the Boilmaker Classic and the Boilermaker Baker Classic this weekend. On Saturday, they bowled five team games and bowled 25 baker games on Sunday.
How it Happened:
On Saturday, the Panthers finished the day 10th out of 17. Freshman
Benaiah McElroy once again led the Panthers, finishing in 7th place out of 147 other athletes. McElroy gave the Panthers a 1016 series, averaging 203 pins a game.
He was followed by
Joey Kiel (922),
Niklaus Kreider (899),
LaDamien Davis (775), and
Gavin Barkman (738).
Greenville had a chance to make a run on Sunday. The Panthers finished 13th of 17 in the baker format, posting a 4230 series over the course of their 25 baker games.
"The men keep showing that they can beat the best of the best. I received a lot of compliments from other coaches, and spectators about our guys this weekend and how hard they compete," says Coach Kunz. "I'm very proud of Benaiah for earning his first career top-10 finish."
